“A Year of Resourceful Making – a two-day exhibition of creative work developed over the past year with our Creative Fellows, Resourceful Makers, Youth at Zeal West and wider resourceful making community.

Projects including lamps made from e-waste, crocheted beanbags, experimental Instruments from obsolete iPads, arcade machines from supermarket trolleys, e-spinner made from an ex-weed eater and more.”

As part of a year of resourceful making an on going project by Local making I began engaging with E-waste through a ongoing project with Adam Ben-dror. We began hacking a discarded hoverboard, slowly converting it into a functioning E bike using other discarded materials found at the West Auckland Recycling centre, Tipping point. 

We also began making lamps using foraged LED components and Lithium cells from discarded materials, giving them a new life in the form of portable, rechargeable lamps.
